Certified resident physiotherapists engage in the implementation of evidence-based therapies, exercise routines to help with the restoration of function, maintenance and improvement of mobility and living quality. 

This program incorporates therapies including dance, rock steady boxing and handwriting classes. They are as follows:

    Physiotherapy & Exercise Regimen

    People with Parkinson’s engage in personalised physiotherapy sessions and structured exercise regimens to improve overall motor performance, build physical strength and endurance while building the skills to ensure safety in everyday living. These regimens incorporate activities such as the LSVT BIG therapy and activities that promote balance, flexibility, and functional movement.

    Dance Therapy

    Our dance coaches work with persons living with Parkinson’s, teaching them routines to upbeat music that ensure constant use of their arms and legs. This expressive movement enhances gait, posture, and joy through movement.

    Rock Steady / Non-Contact Boxing

    Working with trained boxers, participants engage in personalized, Parkinson's-specific boxing routines that help them to build strength, coordination, confidence, and resilience.

    The Overcoming Micrographia Program

    With the use of detailed workbooks and fine-motor training, this program is designed to help persons living with Parkinson’s disease have legible handwriting, preserve cognitive-motor coordination and improve self-confidence.

    Music Therapy Coming Soon

    Rhythm and melody help to improve coordination, movement, and emotional well-being. This program improves cognitive function, motor synchronization, and mood.

    Speech & Voice Therapy Coming Soon

    Participants use evidence-based methods such as LSVT LOUD to strengthen their voice and improve articulation. This enhances communication and social engagement, thus reducing the social isolation that is said to come with a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
