Biodun Shobanjo is one of Nigeria’s finest marketing communications practitioners.
With a career spanning over 50 years, he started off in broadcasting some 56 years ago and later switched to Advertising at the American-owned Grant Advertising in 1971.
He rose quickly, becoming the Deputy Managing Director in 1976, before leaving to co-found Insight Communications, Nigeria’s foremost advertising agency in 1980. He ran the company for 25 years before stepping aside in 2004.

In December 2019, he was conferred with an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) Honoris Causa by Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife – the first ever in the Marketing Communication industry to be so honoured by any Nigerian University.
In July 2021, the University of Lagos also awarded him an honorary D. Litt (Honoris Causa) at its 51st Convocation Ceremonies, in recognition of his commitment to education, economic impact and humanitarian contributions.
A quiet philanthropist and public-spirited business leader, Dr. Shobanjo was inaugurated in February 2010 as the First Ambassador-General of Mass Medical Mission (mmm) of the National Cancer Prevention Programme (NCPP). In 2014, he donated the Biodun Shobanjo Multi-Media Centre of Excellence to the University of Lagos.

Dr. Aderemi Desalu graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos Teaching Hospital in 1986.
After a career in the private sector, Dr. Desalu transitioned to public service in 1999 when he was appointed the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Lagos State HIV/AIDS Foundation. Later that year he became the founding Chief Executive of the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency under the chairmanship of the late Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti.
From 1999 until his retirement from public service in 2015, Dr. Desalu served Lagos State and Nigeria on numerous strategic government boards and committees, participated in bilateral and multilateral programs with international partners such as the World Bank, and volunteered as an advisor to many non-governmental organizations. He is a recipient of multiple commendations and awards for public and social service.
Dr. Aderemi Desalu is currently a Strategic Health and Development Consultant and serves as Chairman, Court of Governors of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria.

In 2016, at the age of 35, Omotola Thomas was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s disease (YOPD). Since her diagnosis, she has dedicated her life to championing the needs of women, young people and, currently, Africans impacted by Parkinson’s disease (PD).
Five years after her diagnosis, she founded Parkinson’s Africa – the first, and only, PD charity established to support and empower the pan-African PD community. In addition to serving as the Trustee Chair of Parkinson’s Africa, Omotola actively volunteers her time to other PD charities and causes. Currently, she is also serving as:
Born and raised in Nigeria, Omotola has also lived in the United States, South Africa, and most recently, England, where she resides with her husband and two children. While in America, she obtained both her bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering and her master’s degree in Project Management from the George Washington University.
